Time flies when you’re having fun!

October 25, 2014

Wow, it’s been 11 weeks since my last post!! Man, time flies when you’re having fun. It also flies when you’re at the end of your second pregnancy, super busy at work and have way too much stuff to do around the house to prepare for the new arrival. Then the new arrival arrives and you’re busy recovering, getting to know a new person and trying to figure out life with two kids. So basically, life has been a little crazy.

Here’s a cliff notes version of the last 11 weeks:

Work has been crazy, mostly because of one project in particular that’s being difficult.  It’s still being difficult even though I’m on leave. I just don’t have to deal with it right now, which is nice for the laid back part of me that doesn’t want to think about work at all. The control freak in me thinks that I need to be involved and is going nuts that all these big things are happening without me.

The end of the pregnancy went great. I had Gestational Diabetes again but it was controlled with diet again. And actually, my diet was less strict than last time. Whohoo! My C-section was scheduled for Sept 29th at 7:30am. That was first thing Monday morning. Having it scheduled for a Monday made the Neurotic in me very happy. I worked until the Friday before, and then family arrived Friday evening and Saturday to be here to greet the baby. On Sunday, the baby decided he was tired of waiting around and Grayson Jacob was born at exactly 5pm, weighed 8 lbs and was 21.25″ long. The surgery went very well and we got sent home less than 48 hours later. We spent a couple weeks recuperating at the farm, which was awesome. Now we’re home and adjusting to life with a toddler and a newborn.

Without further ado:

First Picture! He’s minutes old here.

First Giraffe picture!

Looking bored.

Annabelle has been adjusting well to being a big sister. She likes to help by shoving his pacifier in his mouth giving him his pacifier, then taking it away, then giving it back again. Grayson isn’t very appreciative of her efforts. She also has to know where he is at all times. I think she’s concerned we’re going to leave him somewhere. We’ve never left HER anywhere, so where’s the confidence in us?!
